The Joyous Lake was the hottest club in Woodstock in the early to mid-70’s. Everyone from Bonnie Raitt and Paul Butterfield to The Band and Muddy Waters played there. I was the cashier for a couple of years and had the perfect cat-bird seat on all the action.
The Joyous Lake is part of a much larger story I’d like to tell one day, about Woodstock back when there weren’t any rules.
For now, this chapter will have to suffice!
